Faith Book & Sermon Notes

My Faith Book is a combination of a faith planner and praise book. It has become a very significant part of my day to day interaction with God. It is a place where I can pray, study scripture and record my days. It helps me to have a better perspective on that daunting 'to do' list. It has also become a place to journal my thoughts.

The purpose of a Faith Book is to have a tool that can help guide you in spending more time talking to and listening to God. The more we take the time to read the Bible and pray, the more we become aware of God's presence in our lives. We are able to hold tighter to His promises, live in His unconditional love and experience freedom and peace.

Each document is formatted for legal paper size 8.5 x 14. That way you can cut them in half, hole punch them and put them into about a 7 x 9 small binder. They are this size because they can be easily printed and are the size of the  St. John's worship bulletins. When I started making Sermon Notes, I wanted a place where I could keep them. From there I created more inserts to use in my daily prayer and devotion time. Each file is aligned more to the right to allow room for hole punches.

*make sure your printer will print legal size. I had to update my drivers.

Here is an explanation of a Faith Book that can be printed:

FAITH BOOK INSERTS

Bible Journaling Margin Prep Sheet
Is intended to help prepare for journaling in your bible. There is even a space to write down what tools you want to use with your entry, like paints, stamps, etc...

Scripture Study Sheet
Helps you to look at the context of the reading and record the intended message along with what it is speaking to you.

A Verse A Day Sheet
A Verse A Day more space
These sheets give you a few small squares to use to either write a verse a day or do a small illustration of a word or image with it.

Prayer Sheet
Walks you through a prayer process that includes praise, thanks, requests for you and others.

Prayer List Sheet
A place to list out different people and things to pray for in each square.

Prayer Blessings Sheet
This is a two week daily blessings sheet. First list a blessing on the left, then use a shape on the right to pray for someone for something. You can draw, color or write it in. Do one each day.

Prayers for People
Has a grid of eight business card size rectangles for you to fill with someone you feel the need to focus more prayer time on.

Visual Prayer Sheet
Follows the concept of Praying in Color developed by Sybil MacBeth. Each shape is a place to write or doodle a prayer for someone or Praying In Color
something. Here is a link to her sight to learn more about this engaging way to pray
Blank Visual Prayer Sheet
This has all the shapes but you can add your own name for God to start your prayer.

MEMORY WORK
Is a place to practice learning scriptures by heart. There are suggestions on ways to help you learn it.

Daily Affirmations
Is a collection of scripture references that remind us of who we are in Christ. Some verses are word for word, others are paraphrased. I use this either to help me either get through tough times or just remember what our God says about us.

Gratitude Sheet
Has lots of blank shapes to record what you are thankful for.

SERMON NOTES

There is a blank one to print, draw on and photo copy, so you can make it your own. There is also space to take notes and draw. If you need more room, just flip it over. The color column is designed to fit in the margin of a journaling bible. You can color, cut out and paste or trace the image into your bible. These are also great to share with friends at church. I hope to upload a new one each week. They will be based on the sermon series at our church, St. John's Lutheran in Dover, DE.
